The Teachers' Day was celebrated at the school with mirth and merriment in the Assembly Courtyard.The program started with the Head Girl, Miss Anne Lipir offering the welcome speech, recounting the contribution made by Dr Sarvapali Radhakrishnan and enumerating the importance of the day. Then she invited The Revered Founder and Principal, Dr. N.K Dutta along with the members of School's Students Executive Council to pay tributes to this great personality.
Revered Founder and Principal Dr. Dutta in his address to the Students, Staffs and Teachers highlighted how Formal Education evolved from those days, where children were hunters and food gatherers to the present day Modern School System. He extolled the bond between the teachers and students tracing it back to the times of Socrates, Plato, Aristotle and Ptolemy.
Among others he mentioned about a 11 year student of Aristotle who became one of the greatest emperors Alexander The Great. He stated while teachers were respected in the western world they were Revered as Gods in Indian Mythology. He mentioned the relationship between the Guru and the Shishu by citing examples from the epics Mahabharata and Ramayana. He highlighted that Gandhi would not have been a Mahatma without Gopal Krishna Gokhale and Sachin Tendulkar a cricket legend without the coach Ramakant Archekar.
This was followed by an exciting series of Fun Games organized by the Students. The evening function started with the illumination of the lamp by Honorable Secretary of Miles Bronson Education Society, Mrs. Nandini Dutta. In her speech she related about her memories of her teachers who played a significant role in shaping her as a student and for the future. She also narrated the role of some of her teachers who were straight forward in pointing out her mistakes and how particular she was not to repeat the same and how this teachers played a leading role in grooming her.
This was followed by an Award Ceremony where achievement awards were given to Outstanding Teachers who have contributed to Students Excellence in different fields. The evening was presented by a Colorful Cultural Program of Dance, Drama and Music. The students who performed remarkably were also awarded. The celebration ended with a Gala Dinner in the evening.
