MBRS News Bureau: The ongoing pandemic didn’t dampen the spirits to celebrate India’s 74th Independence Day at Miles Bronson Residential School (MBRS). Along with the rest of the country, MBRS on August 15th, 2020 (Saturday) observed the country’s freedom day with great zeal and enthusiasm adhering to the strict COVID-19 guidelines issued by the government. The gathering was limited with the physical attendance of authorities, teachers and other staff with students making active virtual participation in the program. The National Festival kick-started at MBRS with a welcome song by Yashita Sharma, Class X.
Revered Principal and Founder Dr. N.K Dutta unfurled the tricolour to mark the historic event of 1947 Independence from the British Empire. He also spoke at length about the unparalleled devotion and grand sacrifices made by the freedom fighters for the country’s freedom. The ceremony continued with the same vigour and zest followed by activities like recitation from Raj Roshni, Class X, a persuasive speech by Debashree Laishram, Class XII Humanities, a patriotic song zealously performed by Bidyasagar Ksheytrimayum, Class VII.
Honourable Secretary, Miles Bronson Education Society, Nandini Dutta took part in the event with her reflections. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks from Mrs Jaysree De, Co-ordinator Secondary School, MBRS. On the occasion of I-Day, an Art Competition, was also organized for the students on the topic “Creative Art/Picture associated with Independence Day” under the categories: Group 1: CLASS I – V, Group 2: CLASS VI – VIII, Group 3: CLASS IX – XII respectively.
