- 19 Feb 2016 : Miles Bronson Residential School amidst great pomp and show observed the Founder's Day today that started its journey in the year 1987.The Chief Guest of the program was Mr. Rajiv Kumar Bora IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Govt. of Assam, Welfare of Plain Tribes and Backward Classes Department and Soil Conservation Department. The day had a ceremonial beginning by paying floral tributes to the bust of Dr. Miles Bronson by the Chief Guest followed by the rituals of laying the Foundation Stone for the MBRS MBRS Stadium. It's an occasion for evaluation and a moment for introspection of the school's performance as all take a pledge to rededicate in the noble task which the parents have so faithfully bestowed upon the educators of the society. The day is dedicated to those students and their parents whose excellent performance in the CBSE Boards is highly recognized and gratified. They were all felicitated with a citation, phulam gamosa and a memento after the felicitation ceremony of the Chief Guest traditionally with a sorai, a phulam gamosa and a memento reflecting the long tenure of excellence of MBRS. Revered Founder and Principal, MBRS, Dr. Nripen Kumar Dutta highlighted the vision and mission of the school and the achievements that has ranked the esteemed institute amongst the ten best boarding schools in the country. He had also made the announcement of the 1st Indian Public School Conference (IPSC) Inter School Swimming Competition to be hosted at MBRS in July 2016 for the boys and in Oct 2016 for the girls. The Chief Guest was highly impressed by the constant progress of the institute and acknowledged the placements of the alumni in the elite universities of the country. He endorsed the Public School Culture of the institute that would highten the prestige of the school with the membership of IPSC. He had seen the school grow step by step and admits the changes are absolutely unbelievable and unimaginable and appreciated its contribution to the society. He reiterated the fact that today's generation is highly fortunate and should not miss the opportunities to regret later. He was quite nostalgic and cited various examples of positive mindset and practice. He said: "Every champion was once a contender who refused to give up. Hence all should pick up the skills and the knowledge, for, a winner never quits, a quitter never wins". The most captivating remark was the function of 5P's in one's life. They are 1. Passion, 2. Perseverance, 3. Positivity, 4. Performance and 5. Principles. Mrs. Nandini Dutta, Secretary, Miles Bronson Education Society applauded the toppers of the batch of 2015 and expressed her gratitude to the parents for giving the opportunity to play a part in their children's journey of life. The curtain of the day dropped down after the cultural program and the National Anthem.
