- In tune with the policy of the school to promote the spirit of adventure and learn crucial life skills thirty students of the school led by PGT Biology teacher Lipika Borah and assisted by PGT Economics teacher Monojyoti Maitra undertook an exciting journey of self discovery while challenging their resilient spirit to overcome hurdles. The team undertook a weeklong trip which involved high altitude trekking at the Himalayan foothills. The tour involved trekking to San Dak Phu in the Darjeeling Himalayan range at an altitude twelve thousand feet above sea level. Testing their physical endurance and trekking skills the team also trekked through Tumbling, Kalpokhri to SanDakPhu and finally to Rimbick. Students could hone up their trekking, mountaineering skills while living in close harmony with nature.The beautiful landscape , fauna and flora provided ample learning opportunities for the students in a pristine environment, They could also develop leadership, co-operative skills and were sensitized about preserving the virgin environment. Ace mountaineer and the first Assamese to scale Mt.Everest, MrTarun Saikia guided the entire trekking expedition. The team returned to Guwahati yesterday.
