- Respect for the environment is a constituent element of culture in all societies. Therefore, the value of the environment and the need to protect it and manage it properly must take precedence over all efforts to boost development and quality of life. We owe it, nevertheless, to ourselves, but chiefly to our children and future generations. An effort such as this, which aims to improve the environment and assist it to recover from human exploitation, must involve citizens, above all. As a basic component of environmental protection, immediate and full removal of garbage and its correct disposal constitutes the core of our efforts. It is only natural, therefore, that MBRS instantly gave its full and whole hearted support to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The School has not only taken the lead in this regard, it has also registered enthusiastically on the official website www.schoolsanitation.com to continuously make efforts towards cleanliness and thereby sustain the momentum of work. MBRS has been continuously organising activities directed towards cleanliness and on 30 Oct 2014, it organized the following in the School campus: (a) Talks by students on different aspects of hygiene and sanitation. (b) Cleaning of building interiors and surroundings. (c) Cleaning of toilets. (d) Cleaning of School playground and other sports facilities. (e) Cleaning of gardens and lawns. Gandhiji often addressed people urging them to maintain hygiene, making them aware of the threat of the diseases they were surrounded with in case of dirty streets, water logged ditches and filthy lavatories. He discouraged people from spitting and cleaning their nose on the streets and warned them of the spread of tuberculosis. He counselled villagers to keep away their cattle from taking bath in the water tanks meant for a source of drinking water and cooking purposes. The richest tribute we can pay to our Father of the Nation is by participating whole heartedly in the cleanliness drive. Miles Bronson Residential School strives to do exactly that and thanks our respected Prime Minister for leading us from the front.
