- Guwahati 28th January: The Indian International Model United Nations (IIMUN) Guwahati Chapter had a kick-start on 27th January, 2018 at Miles Bronson Residential School (MBRS), Guwahati. Encompassing the NE and West Bengal, total 109 delegates from the following schools participated in the 3 day conference, Delhi Public School, Guwahati; Army Public School, Narengi; Holy Child School Guwahati; Gurukul Grammar School, Guwahati; Delhi Public School, Numaligarh; Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Panbazar; Army Public School, Basistha; Delhi Public School, Siliguri; St. Michealâ€™s School, Siliguri and the host Miles Bronson Residential School (MBRS), Guwahari. The conference was inaugurated by Shri Tarun Gogoi, Former Honorable Chief Minister of Assam and Dr. J. N. Misra, Former Indian Ambassador to Portugal graced as the Keynote Speaker of the event. Dr. N.K. Dutta, Founder & Principal, MBRS, Guwahati while addressing the august gathering emphasized upon the core significance of holding IIMUN conference to enhance a sustainable growth of the country in the field of human development index, progress of inquisitive mind and the enhancement of standard of living of people. Shri Tarun Gogoi, Former Chief Minister of Assam, in his speech reflected upon the Unity in Diversity as the main strength and beauty of the country and asked all budding talents to take their future path for a better tomorrow clad with Democratic, Socialist and Secular reformations to make India free from all poverties and exploitations. Dr. J. N. MIsra, Former Indian Ambassador to Portugal spoke at a length regarding the strategic goals of Indian foreign policy with special reference to quality of living of people of India, trained investments, entrepreneurship and skill development. IIMUN is a platform based on the simulations of United Nations and Indian Parliament conducted in various cities of the country which was founded by Mr. Rishabh Shah. The main objective IIMUN conference is to extend exposure and leadership skills to budding talents by making students to discuss on various national and international concerns and to extract fruitful resolutions as diplomats. The event was also graced by Smt. Nandini Dutta, Secretary, Miles Bronson Education Society; Ms. Kajol Thakkar, Secretary General, IIMUN, Guwahati and Ms. Apoorva Lawangare, Director General, IIMUN, Guwahati.
