78th Independence Day Celebration at MBRS (Residential) : A Day of Patriotic Fervour

The 78th Independence Day was celebrated with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm at MBRS, with the event taking place at the MBRS Soccer Ground (Grand Stand). The day was filled with activities that honored the spirit of independence and the sacrifices made by our forefathers.

The celebration began with the ceremonial hoisting of the National Flag by the revered Founder & Principal, Dr. N. K. Dutta. In his inspiring speech, Dr. Dutta highlighted the significance of being an independent nation and urged everyone to cherish this hard-earned freedom. He emphasized the responsibility each of us carries in shaping the future of our nation and expressed his hope that by 2047, when we celebrate our 100th Independence Day, India would be recognized as one of the most developed nations in the world. He also paid tribute to the supreme sacrifices made by our great leaders to secure our independence.

The event was marked by a vibrant array of performances by the students. A melodious patriotic song was performed by Miss Jyotishna Brahma, the Cultural Secretary of MBRS, evoking a deep sense of pride and unity among all present. The talented girls from classes III to XI of Tsangpo House showcased their dancing skills through a stirring rendition of a patriotic dance, which captivated the audience.

The morning celebrations concluded with a powerful group dance by the boarders of the Brahmaputra House, further igniting the spirit of patriotism. The program ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Heeyai Naorem, the Round Square President.

The festivities continued in the evening with an exhibition football match between the Class 12 boys and the rest of the boarding boys, held at 4:00 PM at the MBRS Soccer Ground. The highly competitive match saw the rest of the school boarders emerge victorious over the Class 12 boys. Medals were awarded to the winning team by Dr. N.K. Dutta, who highlighted the importance of team spirit during the presentation.

The day’s celebrations concluded with a patriotic movie show, providing a fitting end to a day dedicated to celebrating India’s independence and reflecting on the nation’s journey.
