On 2nd October, the 149th Birthday of Father of the Nation Mahatma Ganghi was observed in a befitting manner at Miles Bronson Residential School. The day started by offering homage and floral tribute before the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi by Honourable Mrs. Nandini Dutta, Secretary, Miles Bronson Education Society assisted by Master Arijit Boro, Head Boy, MBRS and Miss Desiree A. Sangma, Head Girl, MBRS.
Thereafter Mrs. N. Dutta addressed the assembly with her illuminating and inspiring speech whereby she made a clarion call to all Bronsonians to be Disciplined as the first and most important priority, if they want to craft the desired shape to Bapuji’s Dream India. She also reiterated the great saying of Father of the Nation “Be the change that you want to see in the world” by which she motivated all to change Individually in a positive direction to achieve a bigger and better change in tomorrow’s world.
In tune with the Auspicious Day, Round Square IDEALS Pillar E (Environment) and the Philosophy of MBRS Eco Club and Green School Culture, a significant and sanctity full Cleanliness Drive (Swachh Bharat Abhiyan) entitled “Clean India, Clean School” was conducted by the able stewardship of Mrs. N. Dutta. With her guidance and teachers’ support the students collected the brooms and buckets and accomplished the cleanliness drive with tremendous gusto. They cleaned the entire campus from the Administrative Building (Kautilya) to the Tuck-Shop, the Front Yards of the Five Boarding Houses (Tsangpo, Mansarover, Subansiri, Lohit and Brahmaputra) and even the Laundry Backyard. In the midst of zest and fervor the students also cleaned the School Toilets. The whole objective of the activity was to Imbibe Self Reliance, Ownership, Sense of Responsibility and Belongingness, Adopt a Hygienic Life and Spread Awareness about a sustainable clean, green and pollution free environment. The whole school cleanliness drive came to an end with enjoying Lemon Juice served chill and a Sumptuous Lunch extended at the respective hostels.
