Guwahati, 11th October: The Indian Public Schools’ Conference (IPSC) inter school under -17 Boys Basketball Tournament – 2018, hosted and organized by Miles Bronson Residential School (MBRS), Borjhar had a spectacular opening ceremony at the school’s Grand Stand today at 9:30 A.M.
A total of 13 eminent IPSC Schools of the Nation joined the tournament of MBRS chapter, one of the pioneers in Public School culture in the North East. The participating schools are Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Sonipat; Sainik School, Kunjpura; L.K. Singhania Education Centre, Rajasthan; BK Birla Centre for Education, Pune; The Lawrence School, Himachal Pradesh; The Lawrence School, Lovedale; Mayo College, Ajmer; Pinegrove School, Himachal Pradesh; Sainik School, Goalpara; The Emerald Heights International School, Indore; The Punjab Public School, Nabha; Yadavindra Public School, Patiala and the host Miles Bronson Residential School, Borjhar. Col Rajesh Mishra, Commanding Officer, 3 Air Formation Signal Regiment (AFSR), Borjhar graced the inauguration function as the Chief Guest in the august presence of Dr. N.K. Dutta, Founder and Principal, MBRS and Mrs. Nandini Dutta, Secretary, Miles Bronson Education Society.
Dr. Dutta in his address, extended a hearty welcome to all the participants and sports officials and appreciated all for their invaluable passion for games and sports. He meticulously elaborated upon the significance of games and sports for maintaining one’s sound physical and psychological health and asked all to inculcate a congenial camaraderie clad with true sportsmanship spirit. The Chief Guest Col Rajesh Mishra in his speech extended his cordial greetings and good luck to all the participants.
The oath taking ceremony of the tournament was administered by Master Arnold Maharanbam, the captain of the Host Team and the declaration of the opening of the tournament was made by the Chief Guest Captain Col Rajesh Mishra, Commanding Officer, 3 AFSR, Borjhar.
