Miles Bronson receives membership to Round Square
In a recent communication from Rachael Westgarth, Director of Strategy & Operations, Round Square, Windsor, United Kingdom to Dr. N. K. Dutta, Founder & Principal, Miles Bronson Residential School (MBRS) offered her congratulations on MBRS being approved by Round Square South Asia and Gulf Region as a Round Square School. The membership approval letter stated that in the coming weeks and months the relationship between Round Square and Miles Bronson will flourish, and that the school will take the opportunity to access some of the many opportunities available to involve students in conferences and service projects within the South Asia and Gulf region. Round Square is an organisation of presently 161 member schools across the globe was founded by renowned German educator and a key figure in the development of experiential learning Kurt Hahn. He believed that students could only really understand life by experiencing it in many exciting and challenging ways based on the six pillars Internationalism, Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership and Service (IDEALS). This membership to the school is an outcome of various Round Square activities the school organised and events which it actively participated. This includes various service camps and participating in the Round Square International Conference,1 - 8 Oct,2015 in Singapore at the United World College of Sea East Asia with the theme - Act Today Change Tomorrow and the Junior Round Square Conference at the Daly College ,4-10 Indore, The School is now invited and will attend the Round Square International Conference (RSIC) 10 - 16 October 2016 at the Louisenlund School, Louisenlund, Guby, Germany with the theme - The Journey That Makes Us. RSIC is an action - packed, vibrant, social and intellectual occasion which greatly enhance the ability of the of the young people who attend them to grasp a more complete world view of themselves. Each Round. Square School brings a delegation of up to six students to each International Conference and each year they return with a vast set of new experiences and ideas that have a profoundly positive impact on their world outlook. In the past few years Conferences have been held in Thailand, South Africa, England and India.
