COMMENDABLE PERFORMANCE OF MBRS IN THE ROUND SQUARE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE (RSIC), ASHBURY COLLEGE, OTTAWA, CANADA

Miles Bronson Residential School, has recently participated in the Round Square International Conference (RSIC) – 2018, hosted by Ashbury College, Ottawa, Canada from 27th September to 3rd October, 2018. The RSIC 2018 was themed and entitled “Bring Your Difference” where Eight Delegates from MBRS participated. The student delegates are Miss Vanshika Sharma, Round Square Chairperson, MBRS; Miss Daphi Banbet Kharphuli, Round Square Secretary General, MBRS; Miss Mini Ekke, Class XI (Humanities); Miss Shirley Vera Khonglah, Class XII (Sc.) & Miss Annabel R. Marak, Class XII (Sc.) and the adult delegates are Dr. N.K. Dutta, Founder and Principal, MBRS; Miss Henaa Duttaa, Governor, MBRS and Mr. Areef Ahmed, Round Square Representative, MBRS.
Miles Bronson was conferred with Round Square Global Membership in the RSIC 2017, Cape Town, South Africa which was presented to MBRS delegation in the Global Platform by His Excellency King Constantine of Greece, President, Round Square. This prestigious recognition of Global Membership to MBRS is the outcome of exemplary involvement and performance of the Bronsonians in various Round Square activities like Community Service Projects, Adventurous Field Trips, Promoting Go Green Culture, Leadership, Participation to many Regional and International Round Square conferences. In the year 2015 and 2016, MBRS participated the Round Square International Conference (RSIC) Singapore as Observer school and Germany as Candidate school respectively.
The delegation from MBRS experienced the Keynote Address from renowned virtuosos like Mr. Wade Davis, Great Canadian Anthropologist & Etho--botanist; Ms. Sophie Trudeau, Youth Icon & Social Activist; Ms. Jayna Hefford, Olympic Ice Hockey Multiple Gold Medalist and many more Giant Personalities, Illuminating Baraza Sessions, Brainstorming Workshops, Community Service at Christie Lake, Ottawa and Adventure Activities at Parc Omega, Ottawa. The Bronsonian Delegates were conferred a thunderous round of applause by the august gathering at their Mesmerizing and Colourful Dance Performance representing a blend of NE India Heritage at the Global Platform in the Multicultural Nite of the RSIC.
This is noteworthy to mention that Dr. N.K. Dutta, Founder & Principal, MBRS was designated the prestigious Chair to Preside Over the meeting of South Asian & Gulf Region School Heads, Governors and RS Reps. In the valedictory session Dr. Dutta summarily mentioned about the need for reinventing the 12 Discoveries of the Round Square Framework (Communication, Problem Solving, Inquisitiveness, Diversity, Self Awareness, Inventiveness, Sustainability, Courage, Responsibility, Compassion & Teamwork), besides co-curricular activities need to be also embedded with the academic curriculum for the optimum benefit of the students. Apart from the other points, Dr. Dutta deeply stressed upon the need of extending Service to Community beyond Relief, Brick and Mortar Works to empower students by generating Soft and Basic Skills towards Service.
In the RSIC, every accomplishment from team MBRS was Action-Packed, Vibrant, Social, Intellectual and Worthy which greatly enhanced the ability of the young delegates to develop a broader World-View, as well as a Greater Understanding of Life Skills and Camaraderie. In the grand concluding ceremony it was announced that Round Square International Conference - 2018 will be hosted by Emerald Heights School, Indore, INDIA.
